Other Footprints to Aztlan; Works from the Collection of Mary and Armando Durón
Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC)
Venice, CA
October 13-November 30, 2001
By having the resources to collect art, Mary and Armando Durón become privileged to speak for a people who are otherwise voiceless, especially in a place where Chicano art does not have a permanent public space where collective decisions can be made about what is representative about it. With this exhibition, they alone are left to make this decision at this time – driven as they have been from the beginning by their quest for Aztlan.
