The 2018 WCA Annual Conference was held in Los Angeles in February 2018 to coincide with the College Art Association Annual Conference. The conference highlight was Saturday’s 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony and Gala dinner. The honorees included Lee Bontecou, Lynn Hershman Leeson, Glora Orenstein, and Renée Stout. Kathy Gallegos and Amelia Jones received President’s Awards for Art and Activism. WCA also hosted a short film on LTA Awardee Gloria Orenstein’s journey into surrealism.

Concurrently, The Women’s Caucus for Arts presented ART SPEAKS! Lend Your Voice an exhibition curated byJill Moniz including abstract and representational artworks by 62 artists from across the country with the “idea of developing a visual fluency of the art of speaking… The exhibit feels right and aesthetically unabridged, full of emotion, meaning and remarkable art.”  Jill Moniz is a well-known curator, writer and cultural activist. She most recently mounted “Signifying Form” at the Landing Gallery and “Work Over School” for the Craft and Folk Art Museum, Los Angeles, CA.
