Billed as “a provocative new 21st century boutique art fair,” ArtPadSF 2011 featured emerging and contemporary artists from the Bay Area and beyond. During the four-day event, the guest rooms of the world-renowned Phoenix Hotel will be transformed into gallery spaces. Selected works from my new series Make ‘Em All Mexican will be featured in William Moreno’s “Contemporary Pop-Up Gallery” (Room 30).

William Moreno Contemporary is pleased to announce the San Francisco debut of new works by Bay Area photographer Andy Freeberg , Ahree Lee, Luis Delgado Qualtrough and Linda Vallejo at ArtPadSF from May 19 -22, 2011.

Andy Freeberg was born in New York City and studied at the University of Michigan. He began his career as a photojournalist and now alternates his assignment work with fine art projects. His work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, The New Yorker, NPR and others. Freeberg’s photographs are in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the George Eastman House Museum of Photography and others. On view will be works from three series: Guardians, Sentry and Art Fare.

Director William Moreno says, “What strikes me about Mr. Freeberg’s work is his ability to capture deliberate mise-en-scènes in ordinary and fleeting circumstances. The Art Fare series evokes vulnerability, aggression and calculated beauty. It’s ironic to show these works at an art fair – an ultimate self-reference.”

Also featured at William Moreno Contemporary will be new works by Ahree Lee, an experimental filmmaker who holds a B.A. from Yale University and an M.F.A. from Yale School of Art; Luis Delgado Qualtrough whose prints and artist books are in the collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Fine Art Houston, Stanford University Green Library, Bancroft Library UCB, Bibliotheque Nacional Paris, Art Museum of The Americas Washington DC and timely, new works from Los Angeles based artist Linda Vallejo from her “Make ‘Em All Mexican” series.
